Trying to make button redirect me to a website

Time:10-14

So I'm trying to do a login form in C# WPF but the problem is that when I click the get key button, I get a weird error:

[![System.Component.Win32Exception - The system cannot find the file specified.][1]][1]

https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/884162841974829086/897651436828123146/qPxpV.png

This is what I put in the get key button code:

private void GetKey_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
    System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("https://pastebin.com/raw/example");
}

And if i click view details i get this thing:

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception
  HResult=0x80004005
  Message=The system cannot find the file specified.

Assuming you are using .NET Core, you can use the following workaround:

System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(new ProcessStartInfo("cmd", $"/c start https://pastebin.com/raw/example") { CreateNoWindow = true });

The reason why it doesn't work is because the calls required to make this work don't work on all platforms.

You can read more here: https://github.com/dotnet/runtime/issues/17938

CodePudding user response:

Try to set UseShellExecute to true, like this:

using (Process process = new Process())
{
   process.StartInfo = new ProcessStartInfo
   {
       UseShellExecute = true,
       FileName = your_url_here
   };
   process.Start();
}

This is beacuse you want to open the URL in your default web browser, not in the same process as you execute. If this still does not work, check if your system has a default web browser registered.
