I am not sure what is causing this but while editing files within Visual Studio, I am periodically locking up with the following dialog showing.

Pressing cancel does nothing, after waiting for sometime I have to end VS via Task Manager. I can't figure out why this comes up nor how to prevent it.

Just chipping in to say, I'm experiencing this too. Seems to have been for the last few days. The thing I have in common with your setup is GitHub CoPilot.

It's driving me mad (but teaching me to save regularly).

I too have the same problem, appeared a few days ago and it's annoying as hell - I've lost some work as a result! I also have GitHub CoPilot installed. I might disable it and see if things improve.
