I am using Angular for my project. I have added bootstrap and jQuery using NPM install, and added both as dependencies in angular.json.
The navbar I am using contains a dropdown menu. When hovering over the dropdown menu it is supposed to display to dropdown items, but they don't seem to be showing. I can't figure out why...
/* The dropdown container */
.dropdown {
float: left;
overflow: hidden;
}
/* Dropdown button */
.dropdown-toggle {
font-size: 16px;
border: none;
outline: none;
color: white;
padding: 14px 16px;
background-color: inherit;
font-family: inherit;
/* Important for vertical align on mobile phones */
margin: 0;
/* Important for vertical align on mobile phones */
}
/* Dropdown content (hidden by default) */
.navbar .dropdown-content {
display: none;
position: absolute;
background-color: #f9f9f9;
min-width: 160px;
box-shadow: 0px 8px 16px 0px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);
z-index: 1;
}
/* Links inside the dropdown */
.navbar .dropdown-content a {
float: none;
color: black;
padding: 12px 16px;
text-decoration: none;
display: block;
text-align: left;
}
/* Show the dropdown menu on hover */
.navbar .nav-item:hover .dropdown-menu {
display: block;
}

CodePudding user response:
Ignoring your CSS overrides, your bootstrap syntax is wrong.
B5 has attributes with data-bs-*
compared to B4's data-*
. Replacing your data-target
with data-bs-target
does the job.

CodePudding user response:
Just remove the rules you've applied to the .dropdown
element. It's not clear what those were intended to do, but it's best to not override core library features. Bootstrap offers a large amount of customization if you need particular alignment.
