How to set up a domain user can change the password for many times?

Time:10-02

As title, domain Server is a Windows Server 2012 R2, domain client is Windows 7 64 - bit operating system, domain group policy set password on the Server, as shown:

The question now is, change the password on domain client, can modify the success for the first time, but the second is always unable to modify, tip "unable to update the password, provide the value of the new password does not meet the length of domain, complexity and history", as shown in figure:

Have not tried all sorts of complex password input, changes in the next few days also not line, seek expert advice! Thank you very much!

It also tried and still can't change the password, set up in other strategies?

CodePudding user response:

Doubt your domain policy has no effect on the client side,,,, suggested that after the client to see if solve login to the domain

In the Default Domain Policy setting, problem solved!
But very strange, my password Policy is set up in another GPO, and has been linked to the Domain client OU, is it the Default Domain Policy security Policy will not be covered by other GPO?
As shown in figure, VMsOU corresponding GPO is VMs Domian Policy, but in fact, the computer is in accordance with the Default Domain Policy VMsOU password Policy into effect,

CodePudding user response:

The Default Domain Policy is a global strategy, GPO just group Policy object

CodePudding user response:

Domain user password policy needs to be set on Domain Controllers the OU,
Because the domain account are stored in DC,
Other OU strategy can only be effective for local client account,
