Greek 'ano teleia' (U 0387) and middle dot (U 00B7)

Time:08-21

It is disappointing to realize that Ubuntu fonts misunderstand the underestimated punctuation mark of the Greek language 'ano teleia' (U 0387). The correct position is the same as the dot of the semicolon and the higher dot of the colon. :;· Can you see this correctly? If you cannot, then the font your computer uses has the wrong glyph for the mark. Windows fonts like Arial, Georgia and Times New Roman get the glyph right, while Ubuntu fonts like Liberation Serif and Nimbus Roman, get the glyph wrong. It seems to me that Ubuntu fonts have the same glyph for U 00B7 and U 0387.

Where can I shout loud this problem to see the problem corrected?

The above in a more formal way: To whom may I address this problem, so that it is corrected in the future?

More than that the Ubuntu Greek keyboard shortcut 'ALTGR Q' allegedly printing the Greek 'ano teleia' (U 0387) actually prints the middle dot (U 00B7) In LibreOffice Writer I was able to shortcut the problem with an auto-correction command .*· into ·

CodePudding user response:

I was able to post a bug report on what I think is the right place.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ bug/1986503

I hope that someone reads this and evaluates the problem.
