Full virtualization and part of virtualization IO process

Time:10-03

Hello everyone, I am a beginner in cloud computing, the front-end time watching foreign a blog http://dtrace.org/blogs/brendan/2013/01/11/virtualization-performance-zones-kvm-xen/but some content in this blog I also is not very understanding,
For this figure

Is not very understanding,
Basically has the following questions:
1. What does IO proxy in this picture?
2. Xen, GK inside of the Front - end Driver have what effect, the Kernel of the Back - end Driver again have what effect?
3. Why in the KVM IO process needs to come out from the VM Guest OS through the Hypervisor and then return to the VM IO proxy, why should such a design?
Thank you,

Good wrong...

CodePudding user response:

According to my understanding, the user request to the real hardware biggest resource depletion on the operation of the IRP, paravirtualization, through domU and dom0 drive before and after the interaction between the user request, to generate the IRP in dom0, called device drivers, and complete the request, in full virtualization, user requests directly to generate an IRP, IRP is the hypervisor to dom0, dom0 regeneration into IRP, call equipment, complete the request, full virtualization much paravirtualization an IRP operation,

CodePudding user response:

KVM IO is simulated by user mode QEMU process, so the right figure of IO proxy should refer to the QEMU - KVM.
