Excuse me LAN gateway is set on the layer 3 switches

Time:10-07

Network architecture includes routers and layer 3 switches, switch on the second floor, so every segment of the gateway is set on the layer 3 switches, layer 3 switches can set up multiple IP address, is that right?

Also: if you want to set the VLan, whether on the layer 2 switch Settings, layer 3 switches for VLan Settings which content,

CodePudding user response:

Layer 2 device Settings, vlan, three layer devices, isolation and communication,

CodePudding user response:

To clear up two concepts
1 - a VLAN, is on the second floor, the concept of the TAG in the packet, need on the layer 2 switch passthrough
2 - VLAN - IF, is a three layer interface, defined on the VLAN of layer 3 switches

Is the layer 2 switches provide channels, including physical port, also including physical port on virtual interface (VLAN), layer 3 switches the VLAN configuration gateway address after passthrough VLAN routing exchange

Your problem is, all VLAN and VLAN - IF is defined in the layer 3 switches, layer 2 switches need to be configured to allow only certain defined VLAN on the layer 3 switching through to access terminal equipment
