To split the image into 9 Sprites:
1. In the Inspector, click the Sprite Editor button. This opens a window where you can tweak the which part of the image is imported as a Sprite.
2. In the menu bar at the top of the window, click Slice. A window will appear where you can specify how to Slice up the image.
